Tessera DB
PX-01
Developers
From the kit to a first query in a few minutes.
The server is one binary. Start it with a data folder, check it is healthy, and write your first rows over plain HTTP. These are the commands from the kit's own quick start.

Run it.
# The server binary comes in the kit (there is no public download yet).
mkdir -p ./data
export TESSERA_ADMIN_KEY="$(openssl rand -hex 32)" # keep it in a vault
export TESSERA_HTTP_PORT=8080
./tessera-server 50051 ./data # gRPC port, then the data folder
# In another terminal
export TESSERA_URL=http://localhost:8080 TESSERA_KEY="$TESSERA_ADMIN_KEY"
curl -s "$TESSERA_URL/api/health"The second argument is the data folder. Without one the server keeps everything in memory and says so in its log. Open http://localhost:8080/admin for the admin console.

Your first rows.
H=(-H "Authorization: Bearer $TESSERA_KEY" -H 'Content-Type: application/json')
curl -s "${H[@]}" -X POST "$TESSERA_URL/api/sql" \
-d '{"sql":"CREATE TABLE Note (id TEXT PRIMARY KEY DEFAULT ULID(), body TEXT, at BIGINT DEFAULT NOW_MS())"}'
curl -s "${H[@]}" -X POST "$TESSERA_URL/api/sql" \
-d '{"sql":"INSERT INTO Note (body) VALUES ($1)","params":["hello tessera"]}'
curl -s "${H[@]}" -X POST "$TESSERA_URL/api/sql" -d '{"sql":"SELECT id, body, at FROM Note"}'
# The same row, found by its words
curl -s -H "Authorization: Bearer $TESSERA_KEY" "$TESSERA_URL/api/search?q=hello"03

Ways in.
01
HTTP and JSON
From any language. The kit has curl, Python, JavaScript, Java and Go examples, and GET /api/openapi.json lists every route.
02
Postgres wire
psql, psycopg and PostgreSQL JDBC were tested for reads, and psql for writes. DDL runs through /api/sql.
03
Bolt
The official Neo4j drivers for Python (6.x), JavaScript, Go and Java.
04
JDBC
A Type-4 Java driver, provided as source with its tests; it is not published to a package registry.
05
No client package yet
Nothing is published to npm or PyPI. Plain HTTP is the supported way in from code.
